Headlines for 22nd January 2012

 

Division 1

 Harbury out of drop-zone

Harbury Albion pulled clear of the relegation places with a 3 - 0 win at Whitnash. Goals from Chris Harris, Richard Sutton and Matt Florida securing the points.

Heart of England were unlucky not to share the spoils against Westlea Wandereres who made in 8 out of 8 with a single goal from Greg Sherrington.

Warwick Railway and Kenilworth Wardens shared 8 goals as forwards dominated the game. On the mark for Railway were Joey Holland, Chris Hanrahan, Adam Timlin and Danny Meads with Warden's goals coming from Ton Shanley (2), Steve Baker and Ryan Walton. 

Division 2

Royals close the gap

Leamington Royals closed the gap at the top of Div. 2 to 3 points winning 3 - 0 at Bishops Itchington with goals from Lee Sallis, George Hallard and sub. Dan Price.

The wheels appear to have fallen off Westlea Wanderers Reserves bus as they slipped to their second successive defeat. Having won their first five matches, conceding 4 goals, they have shipped 11 in their last 2. Doing the damage this time were Mid-Warwicks Police with a 5 - 2 home win thanks to Craig Coleman, Mark Davison, Mark Cheung, Jim Quinlan and Aaron Goodenough. Westlea's replies from James Canning.

Success at last for Leamington Juniors as they leapfrog Khalsa Reserves with a 3 - 0 win. Phil Glover, Craig Reeves and Mark Scarborough securing the points.

Cubbington Albion continued their good form with a 5 - 4 success at Leam Spartans. Luke Swinnerton (2), Steve Dyer, Sam Smith and Jake Montgomery just edging Simon Proctor, Nick Ford, Sean Rellis and Daz Manton efforts for the home side.

Division 3

Bubbenhall back to winning ways

Joseph Hewison (2), David Protheroe and Adam Parker got Bubbenhall back on track with a 4 - 0 win over Bishops Tachbrook S&SC.

Ashley Knights scored the only goal of the game for Kenilworth Town and move above opponents AFC Warwick.   

Heathcote Athletic beat Ettington Rovers 3 - 1 with 2 superb goals from Joseph Henison and a 30-yard free kick from Jimmy Provett. Rovers consolation from Ashley Brammer.

Radford Albion shared the points with Whitnash Reserves, Dan Burden's strike being wiped out by Ronaldo Castro.

 Division 4

Holly Bush lose their 100% record

Wellesbourne took the game to Holly Bush after falling behind to a Craig Wallsgrave strike to run out 4 - 1 winners. Doing the damage for the hosts were Ben Purser (2), Mitch Colby and Mark Cooper.

Meanwhile, WD Long Itchington closed the gap to 2 points with a Tom Wright effort giving them a 1 - 0 win over Dynamo Leamington.

Liberal Club 'C' were also 1 - 0 winners, Alex Blower's goal enough against Murphys.

Woodloes Tavern blew their chances away, conceding 2 o.g.'s and a penalty to give Hampton Magna a 3 - 2 victory. After Will Mander had given the home side the lead 2 quick own goals gave Magna the advantage. Mander scored a second only for the visitors to secure the points when Jordan Harris scored from the penalty spot.

 Division 5

12 out of 12 for Chadwick End Reserves

Goals from Ryan Helliker (2), Danny Chinn and Frazer McPherson gave Chadwick End Reserves their 12th consecutive league win  beating Stockton Reserves 4 - 1. Lawrence Duffy with the consolation goal.

A 3 - 0 win at Inter MB keeps Warwick Juniors promotion chances alive with goals from Matt Ward, Gavin Morris and Ash Bradbrook.

A real tale of 2 halves  at Priors United as the home side took a 4 - 0 lead in at half-time only to concede 5 in the second period against HRI Wellesbourne. Efforts from Michael Smith, Mark Scott, Robert Capp and Sam Coleman were to no avail as the visitors snatched the win through Sam Mitchell (3),  Andrew Tomlin and Jaz Sodhi.

Still winless, Kineton S&SC Reserves went down 3 - 1 to Leamington Juniors Reserves. A Tom Gardener strike not enough as Niall Thoms, Roberto Ciurlia and Kyle Hutchings secured the win.

 Unison (Warwick District Branch) Challenge Cup Round 4

Leamington Hibernian through to Semis

In an all Division 1 tie, Leamington Hibernian progresssed to the semi-finals with a 5 - 0 win over Khalsa. Goals from Kyle Crowley (2), Phil Daly, Josh Blake and Ashley Kitchen.
